At Quincy Regional Airport in Illinois, a catastrophic mid-air collision occurred between a Beechcraft 1900 and a Beechcraft King Air. As both planes were preparing for takeoff, they collided in the air, resulting in the deaths of all 14 people aboard. The Beechcraft 1900 was taxiing for departure, while the King Air was entering the runway, leading to a critical miscommunication in airspace management. Emergency response teams were deployed immediately, but unfortunately, there were no survivors from either aircraft.
