Born in 1996, a Canadian ice hockey player, primarily played as a defenseman in the National Hockey League (NHL). Drafted first overall by the Florida Panthers in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. Made an immediate impact in the league, winning the Calder Memorial Trophy as the league's top rookie in 2015. Led the Panthers to their first-ever President's Trophy in the 2015-2016 season. Suffered multiple injuries throughout his career but continued to be a key player for the Panthers. Represented Canada in international competitions, including the IIHF World Championship and the World Cup of Hockey.
