His innovative approach provided tools for later mathematicians, including tools for understanding areas and volumes. The principle named after him, Cavalieri's Principle, states that two regions with the same height and equal cross-sectional areas at all heights have the same volume. This principle continues to be utilized in various mathematical applications.
