Conducted a mass shooting at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina, on June 17, 2015. This attack resulted in the deaths of nine individuals who were attending a Bible study session. Roof was arrested the following day and later charged with multiple counts of murder and hate crimes.
