Played ice hockey primarily as a center in the National Hockey League (NHL). Metropolit was selected by the New York Rangers in the 1992 NHL Entry Draft. The player spent time with the Rangers, Atlanta Thrashers, Boston Bruins, Philadelphia Flyers, and Montreal Canadiens during an eleven-year career in the NHL. He also had significant stints in various minor leagues and overseas. Contributed to teams not only through scoring but also as a skilled playmaker.
