His presidency was marked by widespread human rights abuses, political repression, and economic turmoil. Under his rule, thousands of Ugandans were killed or exiled. Amin's policy choices led to significant economic decline and loss of foreign investment. He was eventually overthrown and fled to exile, living in several countries before his death.
