Played college basketball at the University of Minnesota before being selected as the first overall pick in the 1978 NBA Draft by the Portland Trail Blazers. Played for the Trail Blazers and later the San Antonio Spurs and the Los Angeles Lakers. Contributed significantly to the Lakers' success during the 1980s, winning two NBA championships.
