Taur Matan Ruak
East Timorese politician, 3rd President
Served as the 3rd President of East Timor from 2012 to 2017. Ruak played a significant role in the struggle for independence from Indonesia and was a key figure in the establishment of the new nation. Before presidency, he held the position of Minister of Defense and also served as the chief of the armed forces during the resistance against Indonesian occupation.
