Ottoman Forces Capture Euboea Island
In July 1470, the Ottoman Empire successfully seized control of Euboea, a strategically significant island in the Aegean Sea. This event marked a crucial expansion of Ottoman territory, as naval forces under the command of Gedik Ahmed Pasha implemented a well-coordinated military operation against the Venetians, who had previously governed the island.
