Caliph al-Mustakfi was deposed and blinded by Mu'izz al-Dawla, marking a significant shift in power within the Abbasid Caliphate. Mu'izz al-Dawla, a prominent figure of the Buyid dynasty, intervened in the governance of Baghdad and sought to assert his authority.
