On this occasion, the American forces launched an assault on the stronghold of the Moros located on Bud Dajo, a volcano in Jolo, Philippines. The confrontation occurred as a part of the Moro Rebellion, where the U.S. aimed to exert control over the Philippines after acquiring territorial rights. This battle resulted in heavy casualties for the Moros, with reports indicating that only six individuals survived from a population of around 1,000 defenders.
