Discovery of Burgess Shale Fossils by Walcott

In 1909, paleontologist Charles Doolittle Walcott discovered an extraordinary fossil bed in the Burgess Shale, located in the Canadian Rockies near Field, British Columbia. The fossils, stunningly well-preserved, include a variety of Cambrian organisms, offering an unprecedented glimpse into early life on Earth.
