Kon-Tiki Raft Reaches Tuamotu Islands

Thor Heyerdahl's balsa wood raft, the Kon-Tiki, completed a remarkable 101-day journey across the Pacific Ocean. After traveling 7,000 kilometers from Peru, the raft smashed into the reef at Raroia in the Tuamotu Islands.
