The Second Arab Siege of Constantinople saw the Umayyad Caliphate launch an extensive military campaign against the eastern Roman Empire. This siege was initiated by Caliph Al-Walid I, aiming to expand Muslim territory in Europe and assert dominance over Constantinople. The city, strategically vital, was the capital of the Byzantine Empire.
