Henry the Lion

Henry served as Duke of Saxony and Bavaria during the 12th century. He played a prominent role in the expansion of the territorial holdings of the Wittelsbach dynasty. Known for his strong advocacy for the interests of his duchies, he often engaged in conflicts with rival nobles and the Holy Roman Emperor.
